I am new to Abu Dhabi, and am trying to find if there is a Library somewhere? I would like to take my kids to a story corner or something similar - any suggestions?
Thanks.

Hi Brenda,

Visit the Club and you'll find the latest UK and US best sellers, ordered and re-stocked on a regular basis, as well as a large choice of paperbacks and reference books. Library Members are also entitled to borrow from a range of DVDs.

There is a seperate children's section, with books to suit all ages, as well as a CD-Rom section featuring educational and informational topics and storytime sessions for the younger ones.

In case you don't know where the British Club is located. Go direction Mina Port, turn right before the Afghan market and follow this street until you reach the Club.

Have fun.

The world's biggest hand-loomed carpet, the quickest roller coaster, the greatest large tea, the tower with the maximum slim, the largest bunch of ethnic houses of the 21st century that is what you will be in your holyday at Abu Dhabi so begin making planes with hotelbye since this town is waiting for you yourself to give you an unique holyday. Abu Dhabi is just a city that isn't afraid to concern world records, is an exciting city where nothing stands still. One of many areas should see in Abu Dhabi could be the lovely Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. The mosque fuses Mameluke, Ottoman and Fatamid style components to produce a good and completely contemporary mosque that remembers Islamic architecture. Artisans utilised glass-work, mosaic tiling and intricate carvings to spectacular effect on equally the interior and exterior. It was opened in 2007 after almost two decades of structure and can maintain 40,000 worshippers. Is the biggest mosque in the United Arab Emirates.

There are two places that I am aware of:

1. The cultural foundation - It has a huge collection of books ranging from professional studies to children oriented. It is a center for cultural art and learning.

2. The British Council - It has a library of its own with plenty of options to read.

The cultural foundation is easy to find, just tell any taxi driver and he'll drop you. It is located at Zayed the First Street near the Etisalat Building.

The British Council is located near All Prints but I guess it was supposed to relocate. You can call the British Council customer service center on 800 225522 for inquiries.
